Our Te Awamutu Indoor Bowls Club is a mixed social group, who are all about enjoying a sport that is not too hard on the body and is enjoyed by many people of all ages, young and old.
We meet and play weekly on a Wednesday at 7pm and presently have 28 members, of which 12 are a little more serious and enjoy going away to other clubs to play in Tournaments. This year we represented our RSA at the RSA Nationals in Te Aroha and also competed in tournaments in Whangamata and Tokoroa, as well as in some local Te Awamutu based tournaments.
Our season generally starts from when Daylight Saving finishes in Mar/Apr and goes through until when Daylight Saving starts Sept/Oct (Winter). During our season we play in our Club Championship being Singles (Junior and Senior), Drawn Pairs, Drawn Triples and Drawn Fours.
All new players are welcome to join our club, our annual membership fee is $20 per person and you must be a member of our RSA to Join. Come along one Wednesday night and say hello and perhaps give it a go. We have a coach and an umpire in our club who can help you get started.
